Leadership
Operation LEAD Leadership Program
Operation LEAD is a four-week long summer leadership program for 13- and 14-year old teenagers. Young leaders are taught the tenets of leadership; from civic engagement to equipping youth with the tools to succeed in the 21st century, to etiquette, public speaking, writing, and politic composition of the state and federal government. Additionally, French lessons are taught by native Georgetonian and former Optimism Youth Volunteer, Dennzon Winley.
OPS is a student-fueled organization and grants many opportunities for teens to chair committees, attend leadership workshops, and learn valuable soft and hard skills to help them become future leaders and changemakers in their communities.
